2021 Lifetime Achievement Award Awarded to Robert J. Keach

PORTLAND AND AUGUSTA, ME AND MANCHESTER, NH (October 19, 2021): During the annual National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges, the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) honored Robert J. Keach with its 2021 Lifetime Achievement Award. The award is the highest recognition given by the ABI and recognizes the recipient’s sustained and deep commitment to the leadership and governance of the organization.

“This recognition is so well-deserved, and we are all very proud of Bob,” said Joan Fortin, CEO. “Bob has dedicated his career to the laws of bankruptcy and is co-chair of Bernstein Shur’s Business Restructuring and Insolvency Practice Group. He has done everything from serving as President of the ABI, co-chairing the ABI’s Commission to Study the Reform of Chapter 11, and publishing articles on bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, to appearing as a panelist on national bankruptcy, lender-liability and creditors’ rights programs,” added Fortin. “He is a scholar, a teacher, and a fierce advocate for our clients. I am thrilled that he has been honored in this way,” Fortin said.
