American Bar Association Publishes Chapter by Construction Attorney Asha Echeverria and Taps Her to Speak at National Conference
Bernstein Shur, one of northern New England’s largest law firms, announced Asha Echeverria has co-authored the ‘Green Property Insurance’ chapter in Green Building and the Construction Lawyer, A Practical Guide to Transactional and Litigation Issues.
Published by the American Bar Association, Green Building and the Construction Lawyer, is a guide crafted by experienced professionals and covers topics that are most commonly encountered in this area of construction law. The chapter topics include contractual issues, insurance and bonding considerations, energy and water performance, and litigation.

Echeverria is scheduled to share her expertise at the ABA’s Forum on Construction Law midwinter meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona. She will speak on ‘Drafting Disasters – Why You Need to Sharpen Your Clause,’ along with two ABA colleagues. They will cover topics including costly mistakes made in drafting guaranteed maximum price and architect-owner agreements, failing to properly revise and advise on one sided contracts, no damages for delay clauses and more.
Asha Echeverria is a member of Bernstein Shur’s Construction Law Practice Group and Energy and Environmental Practice Group. She is a dispute resolution attorney, handling a variety of claims involving insurance, construction, energy and general commercial matters. In her insurance practice, she counsels clients through insurance reviews as part of their risk management analysis, and assists clients in the purchase of appropriate policies and endorsements, including data security policies. As a licensed professional engineer and LEED Accredited Professional, she is heavily involved in construction matters representing contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and owners in complex construction litigation, contract drafting and negotiation, lien and bond claims, defect claims and contract disputes.
