Reducing the Impact When a Large Property Taxpayer is at Risk
N. Joel Moser’s article on the impact of dwindling and disappearing industry on ME municipalities, published in the March issue of ME Townsman, is now available online on the ME Municipal Association’s website. The article focuses on the property tax vacuum created by mill closures during this period of uncertain economic transition, and the challenges in reducing risk to communities affected by swift industrial decline.
Joel is co-chair of Bernstein Shur’s Property Tax and Valuation Team and a member of both the Municipal and Regulatory Practice Group and Energy Law Practice Group.
