Bernstein Shur Welcomes Three Attorneys to its Portland Office
Attorneys Kevin J. Decker, Conor M. Shankman and Ari B. Solotoff join the Firm
Portland and Augusta, ME and Manchester, NH (October 20, 2015) – Bernstein Shur, one of northern New England’s largest law firms, welcomes attorneys Kevin Decker, Conor Shankman, and Ari Solotoff to the firm’s Portland, ME office.
Kevin Decker joins the firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Energy, and Municipal & Governmental Services Practice Groups. His practice will focus on helping private and public clients navigate a wide variety of legal disputes and regulatory matters.
Decker earned his JD from the University of Maine School of Law, summa cum laude, where he was articles editor for ME Law Review. He earned his AB from Dartmouth College, magna cum laude. Decker served as law clerk to the Honorable William J. Kayatta, Jr., of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and as a legal intern for the appellate division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office and for the Honorable Jon D. Levy of the ME Supreme Judicial Court. Decker is admitted to practice in the state of ME and commonwealth of Massachusetts and resides in Falmouth, ME
Conor Shankman joins the firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Group. His practice will focus on assisting organizations that need litigation support and counsel in data, privacy, and technology integration.
Shankman earned his JD from the University of Maine School of Law, summa cum laude, EdM from Harvard University Graduate School of Education, and his BA from Vassar College. Prior to joining Bernstein Shur, Shankman was an online instructional designer and educational technologist, and part of an educational technology start-up called CollegeSnapps that helped first-generation college-bound students navigate the college application process. Shankman is admitted to practice in the state of ME and resides in Portland, ME.
Ari Solotoff joins the firm’s Business and Corporate Governance Practice Groups. His practice will focus on helping businesses and nonprofits realize their goals by addressing their general corporate transactional and governance matters.
Solotoff earned his JD from the University of Maine School of Law, magna cum laude, where he was the Managing Editor of the ME Law Review. He earned his BA from the University of California, Berkeley. During law school Solotoff completed internships with the Honorable Jon. D. Levy of the ME Supreme Judicial Court, the Honorable Kermit V. Lipez of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and Peter Fessenden, the standing Chapter 13 bankruptcy trustee for the District of ME. Prior to joining the firm, Solotoff served as Executive Vice President of The Philadelphia Orchestra and as Executive Director of the Portland Symphony Orchestra. He is admitted to practice in the state of ME and resides in Portland, ME.
