Attorney Karen Aframe Elected Section Chair for New Hampshire Bar Association
Portland, ME and Manchester, NH (June 7, 2012)- Karen S. Aframe, leader of Bernstein Shur’s Manchester, New Hampshire Labor and Employment Practice, was recently elected labor and employment section chair for the New Hampshire Bar Association.
The New Hampshire Bar Association was founded in 1873 to serve its members and the public. It currently works to connect and educate attorneys while serving as a unified voice for the New Hampshire legal community. The labor and employment section is one of 21 industry specific sections designed to improve knowledge and skills at the practice group level. The section chair is responsible for organizing programming and chairing all section meetings.
The labor and employment section has been chaired by some of New Hampshire’s leading employment attorneys, including a Supreme Court justice, general counsels of unions and in-house counsel for several state employment regulatory agencies.
Aframe is a frequent speaker on employment issues related to sexual harassment and discrimination, internal investigation, performance management and social media in the workplace; she also provides management training on employment topics. Her expertise includes corporate clients, non-profit organizations, financial institutions, health care providers and social-service providers. Aframe received her JD from Northeastern University and is a member of the American Bar Association.
