Bernstein Shur Announces Election of Four Attorneys to Shareholder
PORTLAND, Maine (January 27, 2025) – Bernstein Shur is excited to congratulate four outstanding individuals—Letson Boots, Patrick Marass, Casey McCullen, and Andrew Wells—on their election to Shareholder, effective January 1, 2025.

Leti Boots is an attorney in the Business Restructuring and Insolvency Practice Group. She has extensive experience representing debtors, creditors, and other stakeholders in bankruptcy courts throughout the country, including in Chapter 11 reorganizations, asset sales and acquisitions, and fee examination engagements. Her practice also involves bankruptcy and business litigation, in both federal and state courts. In addition, Leti advises clients in out-of-court transactions and restructurings. She maintains an active pro bono practice, having represented clients through the Immigration Legal Advocacy Project and the Legal Food Hub. Leti is admitted to practice in the State of Maine, the United States District Cout for the District of Maine, and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. Leti received her JD from Vermont Law School, summa cum laude, and holds her Bachelor of Arts from Colby College
Patrick Marass is an attorney in the firm’s Energy & Environmental and Litigation Practice Groups. Whether navigating intricate energy regulations, advocating in front of the Public Utilities Commission (PUC), or defending clients in high-stakes environmental litigation and permitting disputes, Pat thrives in the dynamic landscape of energy and environmental law. He represents large corporations in energy regulatory matters and environmental litigation, with a pragmatic, client-centered approach. Patrick’s work is informed by his deep understanding of Maine’s unique regulatory and business landscape, as well as his prior experience as an environmental consultant and judicial law clerk for the Honorable Justice Ellen A. Gorman of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court. Patrick is admitted to practice in the State of Maine. He received his JD from Vermont Law School, summa cum laude, where he graduated first in his class. Patrick received his Bachelor of Science (Biology) and Bachelor of Arts (Political Science) degrees from the University of Maine, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa.
Casey McCullen is an attorney in the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group. His practice touches all types of real estate, finance, construction, and development matters in Maine and across the United States, including sophisticated, multi-faceted real estate projects. Casey has unique experience with complex debt structures involving multiple sources of financing that are supported by low-income housing, historic, and/or new markets tax credits. Casey served as a law clerk for the Maine Superior Court, where he developed an understanding of Maine law and the issues faced by Maine residents—a grounding that continues to apply in his practice. Casey is admitted to practice in the State of Maine, Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and the State of Ohio. He earned his JD from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, magna cum laude, and his Bachelor of Arts from Franklin & Marshall College, cum laude.
Andrew Wells is an attorney in the firm’s Business Law Practice Group, where he provides strategic legal solutions on complex tax issues to both for-profit and non-profit businesses—large and small, and at every stage. This includes helping new and existing tax-exempt organizations navigate state and federal rules and regulations applicable to tax-exempt non-profit corporations. Andrew also advises businesses on contract negotiations, tax considerations, service agreements, and corporate governance. With prior experience working with leading companies as a tax accountant and as the CFO of a family-owned Maine business, Andrew brings a well-rounded perspective to his clients and is skilled at customizing each solution to support business growth and long-term success. He is admitted to practice in the State of Maine and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Andrew completed his LL.M. at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, earned his JD at the University of Maine School of Law, cum laude, and received his Bachelor of Arts from Emory University.
