Bernstein Shur Attorney Elected President of New Hampshire Women’s Bar Association

Portland and Augusta, ME and Manchester, NH (July 11, 2018) – Bernstein Shur, a leading New England based law firm, announced attorney Christina Ferrari has been elected to a two-year term as president of the New Hampshire Women’s Bar Association (NHWBA).

Ferrari’s responsibilities as president, which began on July 1, include serving as chair of the board of directors, and overseeing, with the executive director, all aspects of the organization.  “It is an absolute privilege to lead the NHWBA in its 20th year and to continue its mission of promoting and supporting the advancement and interests of women in New Hampshire’s legal community. We have come a long way since 1917, when the first woman was admitted to practice law in New Hampshire, but there is still more work to do,” Ferrari says.

Ferrari’s goals for NHWBA are to overhaul programming to focus on female leadership, increase marketing and branding efforts, and ultimately double the association’s membership.

Ferrari has served on the board of NHWBA since 2011 and brings institutional knowledge to her term as president. She also serves on the Access to Justice Commission, the New Hampshire High Tech Council’s BioTech/MedTech Committee, and the Manchester Business Council.

In 2016, Ferrari was accepted into the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Program, which recognizes and nurtures local individuals who have demonstrated a strong commitment to the greater Manchester community, achieved high levels of leadership in their perspective spheres of influence, and are capable of assuming greater responsibility in the future.

Prior to entering the legal industry, Ferrari was a dedicated researcher in the fields of neurosurgery and neuropharmacology and was published in the Journal of Neuroscience. She now puts her industry-specific, technical knowledge to work for her biotechnology, medical device, health information technology, and pharmaceutical clients, including start-ups, as they navigate the modern-day health care system’s legal and regulatory challenges.

Ferrari is passionate about advocating for her clients in state and federal courts, before administrative agencies, and in the dispute resolution process, and has experience in a wide variety of complex civil litigation matters.
