Bernstein Shur Names Attorney Sam Anderson Co-Chair of Business Restructuring and Insolvency Practice Group

Bernstein Shur, one of northern New England’s largest law firms, announced the selection of D. Sam Anderson as co-chair of the firm’s Business Restructuring and Insolvency Practice Group. Anderson will be responsible for the leadership of the firm’s bankruptcy attorneys and will share duties with co-chair Robert Keach.

The Business Restructuring and Insolvency Practice Group represents clients throughout the United States, including the busy reorganization courts in Delaware and the Southern District of New York. Within New England, the group plays a significant role in the majority of business bankruptcy and Chapter 11 cases filed, with an emphasis on the representation of debtors in Chapter 11, as well as purchasers of assets. Outside New England, members of the group have represented asset purchasers in section 363 and plan sales of assets, as well as major parties-in-interest in Chapter 11 cases and business bankruptcy-related litigation.

Anderson is a shareholder and his practice focuses on representing real estate holding companies in Chapter 11, including debtors in single asset real estate cases and representing companies in the hospitality industry through reorganizations and asset sales. Additionally, Anderson has considerable experience working on individual Chapter 11 reorganizations and in representing creditors in Chapter 11 proceedings. He is recognized by Chambers USA and Best Lawyers in America.

Anderson is admitted to practice in ME, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He resides in Yarmouth, ME.
