Bernstein Shur Announces Joel Shaw to Lead Business Law Practice Group

Portland and Augusta, ME and Manchester, NH (July 26th, 2017) – Bernstein Shur, one of northern New England’s largest law firms, announced the selection of Joel Shaw as practice group leader of the firm’s Business Law Practice Group. Shaw will be responsible for the leadership of more than thirty corporate and commercial attorneys and will share duties with co-chair Fred Lipp.

Shaw, a former state securities regulator, has deep expertise in federal and state securities laws and counsels operating companies and private investment funds on corporate structure and governance, capital raising activities, and compliance. He also advises firm clients with respect to strategic mergers and acquisitions, focusing primarily on financial institutions, investment advisers, and other financial market participants.

Shaw earned his B.A. from Boston College and his J.D. from Franklin Pierce Law Center and is a member of the ME Bar Association and the New Hampshire Bar Association.
