Here’s why you’ll enjoy working with her.
When it comes to shaping laws and policies, lobbying, and building strong coalitions, Alysia has the experience, knowledge and passion that have proved successful against incredible odds. Having worked both inside and alongside government, she has the relationships, skills and “never say die” attitude that makes the difference in a tough fight.
But that’s not all. Alysia is also very experienced in:
With nearly 20 years of experience advocating in the public and non-profit sector, Alysia’s depth and proficiency in both content and process has allowed her to shape and influence passage of countless laws and policies. She’s led the charge to reduce the use of solitary confinement in Maine’s prison system, a nationally adopted model, and helped draft and pass legislation legalizing same-sex marriage in Maine, marking the first time in U.S. history that marriage equality legislation was signed into law through a legislative campaign. From civil liberties, to drug policy, to environmental protection, and privacy rights, Alysia knows how to effect change and get results in the legislature and at the ballot.
In her former life, Alysia was:
- Legal counsel and Senior Policy Advisor to the Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives
- A Public Policy Counsel for the ACLU
When Alysia isn’t working, she is…
Enjoying spending time with her family, pursuing dance and being anywhere in, on or near the water.
