Here’s why you’ll enjoy working with him.

With a sharp eye for detail, Matt serves energy sector clients in Maine, New Hampshire, and beyond, handling complex energy transactions with precision. An advocate for national and international solar developers, he skillfully navigates state Public Utilities Commissions (PUCs), regularly representing clients on good cause exemptions and other PUC proceedings. Matt brings high energy to each matter and is known for his strong work ethic, thirst for knowledge, efficiency, and social intelligence.

In the rapidly evolving landscape of renewable energy, Matt represents clients buying and selling  renewable projects, including wind and solar, across Maine and New Hampshire. Whether guiding clients through intricate regulatory frameworks, performing energy regulatory and environmental diligence on renewable energy portfolios, or negotiating complex transactions, Matt is a trusted advisor who delivers results and is helping to power the energy transition in New England and the United States.

Prior to law school, Matt worked for several years at an international investment bank where he analyzed securitized loan portfolios in connection with high-stakes residential mortgage-backed securities litigation and regulatory investigations. This experience sharpened his ability to digest and synthesize large quantities of information and work with people across a variety of industries and experience levels.

But that’s not all. Matt is also experienced in:

  • Mergers and acquisitions
  • General corporate matters

In his former life, Matt was:

  • A student-attorney in the Asylum & Human Rights Clinic where he successfully represented a client who was granted asylum in the United States
  • An intern at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the District of Connecticut
  • A bus boy, waiter, and bartender in restaurants across the country, from New Jersey to South Dakota

When Matt isn’t working, he is…

Travelling, hiking, skiing, or otherwise exploring the bounty of Maine with his wife and two daughters.
